FASTER! HARDER! DARKER! - A show of new woodblocks & oddities by Favianna, in San Fran on 12/8

The end of the year is nearing, and for me that means a series of parties to show my new work!

I recently joined up with a great friend and artist, Paul Mullowney, to start a new studio in the San Francisco Mission district! The name of the studio is tentatively called Studio 931.

The show is called FASTER! HARDER! DARKER! - a term used to describe the process of rolling up the ink on large woodblocks. You have to roll the ink FAST, you have to push on the paper HARD, and you have to rub on it so that its gets DARK! You can expect to see lots of my new oversize woodblocks, new oddities, and monotypes. Here are the details for the show!

OPENING on THURS. DEC 8, 2011@ 6:00 PM
4 days only! DEC 8 - DEC 11

There is gonna some amazing new works of mine. Don’t miss this

Studio 931 is the newly forming print studio in the heart of the Mission at 931 Treat Avenue. The latest iteration of master printer Paul Mullowney, the studio emphasizes new trends in national printmaking while supporting local artists. The work at Studio 931 focuses on traditional forms of print media combined with materials and techniques informed by graphic traditions from Latin American and Japanese high craft–with a nod to the current resurgence of black & white woodcut printing, and contemporary tattooing.
